Arguably the match of the round took place at Sydney University Oval #1 last night under lights, Pennant Hills came in to this round with zero wins from 2 matches and after the performance against UNSW the week before had some work to do. In what was probably the match of the season so far the lead changed many times and going in to the last quarter the Demons held a 2 point advantage, a few late goals pushed them ahead to a lead which was not attainable in such a short period, both sides played very well with #41 from the Demons being a stand out for me

UNSW took on the Wollongong Lions at the Village Green on the first of many Anzac Day fixtures. The Lions put up a good fight for the first half with from memory only trailing by 4 or 5 goals, the end result was a different story with the Uni team taking them down by a fairly large margin.

UNSW/Eastern Suburbs played host to the raining premiers in this the 2nd round of the SydneyAFL Premier Division, a low scoring tight game at the Village Green saw UNSW come through with a win after Pennant Hills lead with just a few minutes to go in the 4th and final quarter, two rain showers and one what i could only described as a monsoonal shower made for some great images with the centre of the pitch a virtual mud pit.

In what started as a great game, tight offense as well as strong defense for the first two quarters with North Shore really fighting hard it turned out to be a bit of a white wash with East Coast taking their first home game 19.16-130 to 8.10-58.

It was my first chance to shoot under the new Bruce Purser Reserve lights, whilst the light in the centre of the ground was great the outer areas was quite a bit darker which played havoc , all the same the atmosphere was great with quite a few supporters hanging around in the chilly weather …

Henson Park played host to the first Round clash between Western Suburbs Magpies and the Wollongong Lions.

Rain threatened the entire afternoon however we all managed to say dry, Western Suburbs outclassed the Lions but the contrasting uniform colours and late afternoon sun made for some great images.

Well the grand final repeat has come and gone, was great to finally start shooting the new season and shoot at Bruce Purser and shoot the Grand Final repeat, it was interesting to see the Eagles play a stronger game, I am sure the Demons will be back after the loss.

Due to the inclement weather in Sydney of late the Grand Final eplay between Pennant Hills and East Coast Eagles has been moved to the Bruce Purser oval and the Western Suburbs vs Wollongong clash has moved to Henson Park.

Well its been close to 6 months now since the 2008 season concluded with the Pennant Hills Demons defeating the East Coast Eagles in the Grand Final.

This weekend SAFLPhotos will be at their first game of the new year with the grand final repeat to be held at the Demons home ground Ern Holmes Park on Saturday 4/4/2009 at 2:30pm.

We will also be at Western Suburbs first game of the year against Wollongong at Picken Oval on Sun 5/4/2009 at 2pm.

Make sure you come say hello if you see us in our orange vests.
